3D Fireplace Advent Calendar
Hi crafty friends! I’m back after a very long break to share with you this 3D DIY Advent calendar made using a cut file that I purchased from Etsy shop, LilycraftsCreations. It was easy to assemble, and the hardest part was deciding on the scrapbook papers to use for the boxes. Included in the download is a “parts” list and a link to a YouTube assembly video, which was extremely helpful. The total make time was about 5 – 6 hours. While the assembly is a little laborious and technical, I had the most fun decorating the completed project.
How I Made It
First, using colored pencils, I drew the stone look of the fireplace. Next, I used a bunch of leftover Christmas die cuts to add the trees and holly to the mantel and hearth. I knew saving the cute little penguin, reindeer, and gingerbread men was a good idea…haha. Next, I created the numbers for the packages using Cricut Design Space. If your penmanship is up to par, you can write the number on the boxes. I chose to make this one a 12-day advent with extra empty boxes for effect. Lastly, I place the calendar in its display location and fill the boxes with small surprises.
How It Works
Due to its versatility, this Fireplace Advent Calendar is one of my favorite cut file purchases! Recreate it for Easter or any event that you would like to countdown to the day. Imagine decorating it to countdown to a birthday, anniversary, or graduation. You may find the assembly to be a labor of love since this a true cut, fold, and glue project, but it is totally worth it! Click here for more DIY Advent Calendars found on Etsy.
